Suffering From Anxiety? Take Back Control Of Your Life!
Anyone can easily be overwhelmed by stress. While some stress in extremely essential and unavoidable, if not kept in check or lessened in some way your stress can and will lead to anxiety.
There are a great number of causes of stress. It is a very perceptual thing. What causes stress for one person does not necessarily cause stress for another individual. One cause that seems to be on a lot of sufferer's lists is finances. Particularly when they're going through money issues. It is extraordinarily common for somebody to be feeling anxious when they're in debt.
So, if you need to ward off the anxiety linked up with financial stress, don't go into debt. Unfortunately this bit of advice is too late for countless people that have ever increasing debt and intensifying anxiety. Here's what you can do for starters. Set yourself up a budget. Yes, the creepy "b" word. In this budget you will include key expenses with one addition - an emergency fund.
You will be able to pay off your debt quicker and observe a diminishing of the anxiety levels, if you stick to that budget. Imagine the relief and the overwhelming sense of pride once all your debt is extinguished. Not to mention the absence of the anxiety.
Another cause of stress is working too much. Both you and your family can suffer due to the extended hours at work.
Set up some rules regarding your work to help change this. During the time at your workplace leave your personal life at the elevator bank. Pick it up on your way out and vice versa. When you leave your workplace don't take any part with you. Make it a rule not to think about work outside of the workplace. When you're with your family, give them your undivided attention. They merit it.
Another stressor for may people is their inability to say "no". It can be rather stressful to say yes to everyone who asks for your aid. When you say yes to too many individuals who ask, you end up not taking care of yourself. It's fine to say no at times. Be of service to others when you can, but don't go overboard.
Restrict your aid to one individual at a time. Be mindful of those that are abusive in their demands for help. Family and friends especially. Teach them to aid themselves. It is perfectly OK to expect something from them in return. That will also empower the individual you are helping.
Take on one issue at a time. You can very easily give in to stress if you extend yourself too thin. It's alright to realize your limitations. Don't over extend yourself.
There are a lot of things that cause stress. Take inventory of your life and discover where your stress is coming from. Then take certain action to reduce that stress. You may have to alter some habits, you may even have to alter how you perceive things. Reducing your level of stress should take priority in your life.
